Starting salary £23,152.50 per annum full time (pro-rata for part time),rising to £23,593.50 on successful probation

Permanent Full time or part-time and term time + 3 weeks a definite option


This is an exciting opportunity for a person to join our passionate team as an Employment Coach supporting young people with disabilities to build their skills and gain paid employment. You will be working on our Route to Recruit programme which delivers supported internships across Berkshire. Supported internships enable young people to ‘learn on the job’ rather than in the traditional setting of the classroom. Find out more here .


Key responsibilities are:

 

  • Coaching young people in their supported internship place of work on a one-to-one basis to layer up the skills they need in that workplace and to ultimately secure paid work
  • Liaising with the workplace employer, education providers (schools and colleges) and programme manager regarding student progress and next steps in their skills development
  • Providing mentoring and coaching where needed to line managers and work colleagues, to empower employers to become more independent in meeting the needs of that young person
  • Provide travel training


Profile

The successful candidate will need to have the following skills and experience:

 

  • Excellent communication skills, energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to use varied IT systems and to record interactions accurately and concisely on our Salesforce CRM system
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to balance the needs of clients, employers and us!
  • A resilient and pragmatic approach to dealing with people and occasionally challenging situations
  • A knowledge of disability or HR procedures would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given on a range of disabilities eg. Autism, Learning Disabilities etc. 
  • Full UK driving licence with daily access to a car is essential and a successful enhanced DBS would be required (paid for by us)
  • Easy access via public transport or by walking to base in Reading London road 
  • Most importantly a sense of humour, someone who share our values and wants to make a real difference to someone’s life
