Ways into Work CIC is a social enterprise which job matches and develops people with disabilities and other barriers in the workforce. We have recently opened a brand new café with 90 covers inside and out that provides a unique and diverse opportunity for the right candidate to join and develop. You will create a happy place to meet, eat food made in the café and have great coffee, and create events whilst attracting more customers so that the café is a place to visit in Reading. 

Reporting to the Managing Director of Ways into Work, the Cafe Manager position will run the cafe with the following key responsibilities:

• Management, recruitment and training of the team
• Deliver consistently delicious plates of food coffee and cakes
• Ensure excellent customer service is provided
• Marketing the café to increase our customer base
• Staff payroll and Rotas
• Stock ordering
• Implement new processes and procedures
• Ensure site and food health and safety standards are maintained
• Handle escalated queries and complaints from customers
• Hands on role as needed to run the Café, e.g. take orders, serve customers etc. 
• Creating marketing campaigns and expand the business
• Responsibility for the profitability of the Cafe
• Opening/closing of the store

• The successful candidate for the Cafe Manager position will need to have the following skills and experience:
• Previous experience of managing a restaurant or cafe
• Previous experience of working in a customer facing role is essential
• Excellent communication skills, energy and enthusiasm
• A high attention to detail
• Willingness to manage and help people with disabilities as needed in a diverse team
• Ability to use the cafe IT systems

This is a Permanent position working in a team that changes lives, one job at a time

40 hours a week, day time only although occasional evening or weekend events may be arranged.

25 days holiday + bank holidays + a unique opportunity to buy or sell up to 1 week
