Support

In-work support is something that sets us and Supported Employment apart from other services that help get people into work.   It means something different for everyone but essentially it means that we can provide hands on support in the place of work to support the employee with a disability or barrier, their line manager, colleagues and HR department.

WHAT IT INCLUDES

In work support includes but is not limited to:
  • Job coaching – learning the job or specific task(s) with the person and helping them practice how to do it in line with employer requirements.
  • Supporting individuals to complete induction and other training.
  • Providing advice and guidance about how to communicate, support and manage the individual.
  • Providing advice and guidance on reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010.
  • Managing Access to Work applications (government funding for reasonable adjustments – including support, technology and other equipment).
  • Creating and implementing the use of visual aids (i.e. step by step guides, reminders, use of alarms and technology).
  • Attending meetings, including performance related meetings to support both parties.
  • Completing observations and problem solving solutions to any issues arising.
  • Contribution to, development and/or monitoring of personal development plans to facilitate role and career progression.
